Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure designed to remove fat deposits from beneath the skin. VASER liposuction represents a specialised technique that targets fat cells by breaking them apart and loosening them from deeper tissues, allowing for more efficient removal during the procedure.

The term VASER stands for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance. This advanced ultrasound technology uses high-frequency sound waves to separate fat cells by disrupting their bonds, enabling precise and effective fat extraction.

VASER liposuction is often regarded as a more refined and less invasive cosmetic procedure. However, its success relies on the expertise of a highly skilled and experienced practitioner.

It’s important to note that liposuction is not a method for weight loss. Those who achieve the best results from VASER liposuction, or any form of liposuction, are usually within around 15 pounds of their target weight. This procedure is best suited for individuals aiming to target stubborn fat deposits and enhance muscle definition in specific areas.

Getting Ready for VASER Liposuction

To ensure a smooth preparation for your VASER liposuction at our London clinic, inform your doctor about any medications you’re currently taking. In the two weeks leading up to the procedure, avoid blood-thinning drugs like ibuprofen to minimise risks.

It’s also advisable to refrain from drinking alcohol the night before your appointment. Your doctor may provide specific instructions tailored to VASER liposuction—follow them carefully to achieve the best results.

What Happens After VASER Liposuction?

After your VASER liposuction, you might notice some bruising and swelling in the areas that were treated. Immediate results won’t be visible, as your body needs time to heal and settle.

You’ll be provided with sterilised cotton pads to cover the treated areas, which may release fluid for the first 24 to 48 hours. Drinking extra fluids will help flush the anaesthesia from your system. You’ll also need to wear a compression garment for several weeks to manage swelling and aid recovery.

Within 3 to 6 months, you’ll begin to see clearer results as your body adjusts to its refined shape. For some, it may take a bit longer to fully appreciate the change.

The outcome of VASER liposuction can be long-lasting, but preserving your new look depends partly on your efforts. After the procedure, maintaining a healthy diet and consistent exercise routine is key to preventing the return of the removed fat deposits.

However, keep in mind that no treatment can fully stop the signs of ageing. Over time, factors such as weight fluctuations, inflammation, or gravity might subtly affect your results. For expert guidance, reach out to our London clinic today!

The Vaser Liposuction Procedure

Vaser (Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance) liposuction is a new, revolutionary technique that is used for fat removal and contouring different areas of the body.

The main advantage of Vaser liposuction technology is that it allows the extraction of bodily fat but can leave other connective tissues intact, which in the end gives much smoother results and less bruising.

The Vaser system has a range of purposefully designed probes and precision cannulas that can be used to treat different areas of fat using ultrasound, thus meaning smaller, delicate areas can be treated effectively as well as larger, bulky areas.

The Soft Liposuction Procedure

At LINIA, we use our special technique of Soft Liposculpture when multi-layered fat removal is achieved by using fat loosening solutions. This helps reduce the bruising and can also assist the process of recovery.

Following the removal of fat, a deep massage is performed during the operation. This procedure is called “Liporedistribution”. Liporedistribution helps reduce the risk of lumpiness that can occur during liposuction and enhances the resolution of swelling.

Superficial liposuction is performed using special thin cannulas to aid skin tightening and achieve a firmer skin tone.

Some common questions we get asked about Vaser Lipo & Liposuction

What Will The Liposuction Procedure Involve?

Unwanted subcutaneous fat found on areas such as the hips, thighs and buttocks can be difficult to shift through exercise and diet alone.

Depending on the technique of liposuction, the surgeon will break the fat down fat using ultrasound or laser technology. Once it is liquified, the cannula removes it from the body.

Vaser liposuction is usually the preferred approach as it offers a faster recovery time and allows the surgeon to precisely target the fat cells. This approach to liposuction gives more freedom and the capability to sculpt and contour the body to the patient’s preferences.

What is the difference between VASER Liposuction vs. Traditional Liposuction?

The primary advantage of VASER is its precision, it targets fat with greater accuracy rather than being a solution for removing large fat volumes. This technique shines in body contouring, focusing on eliminating smaller fat pockets to enhance underlying muscle definition. While it won’t dramatically reshape your entire figure, VASER liposuction can subtly refine your silhouette in meaningful ways, making it a popular choice for London patients seeking targeted improvements.

Many also find that VASER’s advanced technology leads to a less painful recovery and a quicker healing process compared to traditional methods. For a tailored consultation on how VASER liposuction can work for you, contact our London experts today!

Who Is The Liposuction Procedure Suitable For?

Patients who are considering liposuction should be as close as possible to their ideal body weight, with enough fat to remove that has been resistant to diet and exercise. Those with a BMI above 35 should take note that there is a limit on procedures like Liposuction. The ideal candidate would have good skin elasticity and no visible signs of loose skin and be able to ‘pinch an inch’ of fat. Liposuction is not suitable for those who have a great deal of loose skin. Instead, they may wish to consider a body lift or tummy tuck.

The advancement of our Liposuction techniques makes the operation versatile in terms of the ideal candidate. We can also offer Liposuction for smaller body types or those who are looking to define and sculpt their body shape.

When Can Results of Liposuction Be Seen?

After Smart or Vaser liposuction, the results will be immediate that gradually improve over 1-2 months. You may experience swelling during recovery, therefore you should start to get more of an indication of your result at around three months post-op. It can take up to a year to have a final indication of your new shape.

How Long Is Recovery of Liposuction?

Recovery varies from patient to patient, but with all liposuction methods, the minimal recovery time will be several days to two weeks, and you should expect bruising, swelling and soreness during this time. These side effects might persist up for up to 6 weeks if the operation was extensive.

Smart lipo and Vaser lipo offer faster recovery rates than traditional liposuction. Vaser lipo can provide the quickest recovery rates. Most patients will find that they can be up and about after a couple of days and can resume light exercise. Recovery can take longer for traditional liposuction.

How Long Does The Liposuction Procedure Take?

The duration of the operation will depend on the technique and the amount of fat removal.

What Are The Risks of Liposuction?

  • Unwanted lumps and bumps or an uneven appearance. You can minimise risk by selecting a highly qualified and skilled surgeon.
  • Anaesthesia risks
  • Bleeding
  • Hematoma and seroma
  • Bruising
  • Necrosis
  • Fat clots
  • DVT
  • Damages to nerves, muscles, blood vessels and organs, and changes in skin sensation
  • Sagging skin
  • Asymmetry
  • Scarring or discolouration of the skin
  • Cardiac or pulmonary issues

How Long Will Results of Liposuction Last?

The fat removed will be permanently eradicated; however, weight gain is still possible. Therefore, we advise patients to be as close to their ideal weight as possible before having the operation. Studies have found that with a sculpting technique or Vaser lipo, the fat will not return and instead, will distribute to other areas of the body.

Will There Be Scarring?

Small incisions (a few millimetres) are in discreet locations. Still, any type of scarring will often be minimal, depending on the patient’s skin type and other influences that may inhibit healing.
