If you’re unhappy with your nose, perhaps because it’s not quite the right shape or size, you may be considering nose reshaping or augmentation rhinoplasty. But we’re sure you’re wondering: how much is a rhinoplasty?

When looking into any form of cosmetic surgery, in this case, the rhinoplasty procedure, you should think about everything from the potential results, the downtime and recovery involved to the side effects and risks involved.

But there’s no getting away from it, unless it’s for medical reasons and you get it on the NHS, you’ll likely want to know “How much is rhinoplasty?”.

Here’s everything you need to know:

How much is a nose job in the UK in 2021?

The main factor that determines the cost of rhinoplasty is whether it is complex and intricate or simple to complete.

Costs can vary depending on the clinic and procedure but can start from around £4,000 and reach up to £7,000 at the higher end, according to the NHS.

At LINIA Cosmetic Surgery, we will only be able to give you an accurate price for the work that needs to be done, whether its reduction rhinoplasty, a septorhinoplasty or some other form of nose reshaping surgery, after you’ve had a consultation.

As a general rule of thumb, though, our prices start from £5,950 for both general rhinoplasty and septorhinoplasty.

Before you even pay anything, we offer a consultation appointment with a qualified and experienced surgeon from our highly skilled team.

They will take the opportunity to discuss your various issues, and assess your nose and the surrounding area, including your eyes, cheeks and jaw to determine whether your desired goals are reasonable or not.

They will then be able to offer a fair and reasonable price for the work you are looking to have done, including any pain relief you require before and after the surgeon has finished the operation.

What is the cheapest nose job and how much does it cost abroad?

One way to save some money on nose surgery is to travel abroad to have rhinoplasty done.

There are a lot of surgeons and clinics in Europe and further afield that offer cosmetic surgery of all kinds, including rhinoplasty for a much more reasonable price than here in the UK.

In our findings, we’ve seen prices for nose surgery abroad in places like Prague, Turkey and others start at £1,100 up to around £3,050, depending on the country.

Eastern European countries like the Czech Republic seem to be the cheapest, followed by places like Turkey and Thailand.

Although this is not necessarily indicative of the quality of the plastic surgery you will receive, as the main reason it is cheaper abroad is due to the running costs and labour costs being lower in places like Turkey, you should still consider this option carefully before making a final decision.

When you have rhinoplasty from a UK-based clinic, it is much easier to attend follow-up appointments and you have more time to look around at the different establishments in your local area before picking one to have the work done at.

Remember, if the size and shape of your nose have been affecting your self-esteem, and you want to feel more confident in life or are looking to improve breathing difficulties, you might not want to rush into rhinoplasty in a foreign country that could leave you with more problems.

What are the factors that make up the cost of a rhinoplasty?

Finance is an important consideration to make when you are choosing cosmetic surgery and trying to find a good surgeon to perform it.

There are a variety of different factors that can impact the price of rhinoplasty.

First and foremost, rather than just being one type of procedure, it’s important to understand that the term rhinoplasty and nose reshaping are used as umbrellas for several different procedures.

Rhinoplasty can be used to:

  • Make your nose larger – by taking bone from your skull, elbow or hips and ear cartilage to create a graft.
  • Make your nose smaller – by removing some bone and cartilage from your nose
  • Change the angle between your top lip and nose
  • Change the whole nose shape, including your nostrils – this involves breaking your nose bone and then rearranging and redistributing your cartilage
  • Change the shape of the bridge of your nose
  • Narrow your nostrils’ size

The type of rhinoplasty you require will depend on your own unique needs and requirements. This is what will have the biggest impact on the price, as some procedures are easier to complete than others.

For instance, a slight hump that needs to be removed or adjusted requires less time and effort than a complete reshaping.

Another factor that can impact the cost of your nose surgery is whether you have had other surgeries performed in the past that have caused scarring.

To provide you with the best looking and most functional nose possible, the scarring will need to be dealt with.

Furthermore, if you have already had rhinoplasty completed in the past, you will have to pay a little extra if it’s revision surgery you require.

There are two different techniques used for rhinoplasty:

  • Open Rhinoplasty – this involves making a cut across the skin between your nostrils
  • Closed Rhinoplasty – this involves making several cuts on the inside of your nostrils

Although you may find that some practices and plastic surgeons will charge different prices for these procedures, it shouldn’t make a difference.

As noted further above, the main factor that increases or decreases the price of a nose job, whether its nose reshaping or any other form of nose surgery, is how complex it is.

How much does a good nose job cost?

This is a good question to ask, but one that does not have a quick and easy answer, as it can be very subjective what is classified as “good”.

For the same reasons as above, the price of nose reshaping surgery and all forms of rhinoplasty treatment depends on several factors.

Primarily it depends on the complexity of the procedure.

If you are purposely trying to find the price for a “good” nose job – that is, one that is better than the average rhinoplasty surgery available – there is more involved.

It’s not just the complexity of the procedure that plays a part in the price.

There are thousands of different clinics and practices out there that all offer this kind of treatment.

That does not necessarily mean they are offering the same quality.

Therefore, before you agree to have any procedure performed by a particular surgeon, there are many things you need to check, which may also affect the price of surgery, including:

  • How long they have been practising as a plastic surgeon
  • How many times they have performed an operation on a nose, whether it’s a rhinoplasty, nose reshaping or other types of treatment
  • The qualifications and education they have to their name
  • The satisfaction rate of the nose surgeries they have performed in the past
  • Did they attend the Royal College of Surgeons?
  • Do they have before and after pictures of their past patients and testimonials?

It is not rude to ask any of the above questions, and any self-respecting and reputable surgeon will be happy to answer them during the consultation appointment and show you the evidence you need to feel confident in their ability to perform cosmetic surgery.

You will also want to feel comfortable that the surgery or clinic itself will be able to provide the right amount of care for you before, during and after your operation.

This is why it’s a good idea, if possible, to visit any clinic you are interested in having your treatment at, so you can meet the resident surgeon or surgeons and nurses.

It’s also advised that you look at reviews, nose job before and afters and testimonials posted online by past patients, to get a sense of what it’s like having an operation at that clinic.

You should also look for a surgeon and team that provide you with comprehensive information about what you need to do before, during and after your operation to achieve the best results and to aid recovery.
