If you are unhappy with your breast size but don’t want to go under the knife for plastic and reconstructive surgery or breast implants, then you have probably wondered about natural breast enlargement options, like breast enlargement pills and breast enhancement creams (and whether or not they work!).
As well as discussing whether they are effective or not, we will also discuss other options such as relying on diet and exercise, and even taking hormones to discover if they can improve your breast size.
It would be wrong for us to say that it is completely impossible. Though, the first bit of advice we would give if you are going down the route of enhancing the size of your breasts without surgery is to have the right expectations and understand the risks (which can often times be greater than surgery!)
Whereas with breast surgery, you will see desirable results and a very real change in cup size, with other methods the results may be, at best, very subtle and slight. At worst, nothing will happen and there are risks which we will discuss later…

If you have realistic expectations, it may be worth considering a non-surgical approach that doesn’t involve supplements, pills or creams and just relies on breast enhancement-focused exercises to improve posture and chest muscle size underneath your breast tissue.
Though this isn’t technically increasing your breast size, it is something to consider if you want a very subtle boost to your bust size.
You don’t have to cast your net very far to find out about so-called “natural” breast enlargement pills.
They are everywhere – in women’s magazines, in the newspapers, on television, radio and, of course, the internet.
Many of these adverts focus on the insecurities many women have about their breasts, particularly after losing weight, childbirth and even breast implant removal.
The more appropriate question to ask would be “could breast enlargement pills work?”
Well, yes, they could, as they normally contain herbs that are known or at least believed to produce oestrogen-like effects in the body, particularly on breast size and shape.
Birth control pills, for example, are often touted as being an ideal way to increase your breast size without surgery.
These work similarly to the above because the oestrogen causes your breasts to have fluid retention that can affect the breast tissue.
There are also breast enlargement supplements that contain wild yam and saw palmetto because the manufacturers claim that plant-based substances called phytoestrogens can have an impact on breast health and size.
However, there has been not been sufficient enough research into whether phytoestrogens actually can affect breast size. There is also the question of safety of these methods of breast augmentation…
While looking at how effective certain natural breast enhancement supplements are is important because you don’t want to potentially waste your money, even more crucial is whether they are safe or not.
Just because a company looking to take your money from you claims a product is “natural” and “safe, doesn’t mean it is.
There is no conclusive evidence to support the claims that any of the herbs and other natural ingredients used in breast enlargement pills are safe and unbalancing your hormones without supervision can lead to negative health effects.
The Professor for Complementary and Alternative Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine, Adriane Fugh-Berman, M.D. noted in an article published by Obstetrics and Gynaecology that products with breast enhancement formulas, like breast enhancement pills, should be avoided simply because there is no real proof that they are effective or safe, particularly in the long run.
Breast enlargement pills that do contain oestrogen or that have similar effects to the hormone on the body, in themselves present some real safety concerns.
Oestrogen, when taken on its own can stimulate tissue growth in your uterus and has been connected to the development of uterine cancer.
This is why you will find that hormone replacement therapy, birth control pills and other prescription drugs containing oestrogen also have progesterone to counteract the effects the hormone has on your uterus and are taken under strict supervision.
Some of the ingredients to look out for when looking at breast enlargement pills are:
Supplements like breast enlargement pills have not been fully tested for safe use by the general population.
But it’s vitally important that you know that for nursing mothers, pregnant women and anyone with medical conditions and illnesses that are on prescribed medication the safety of these supplements has not been ascertained.
Always discuss the use of these supplements with a doctor or general practitioner first.
If there is no exact science behind breast enlargement pills working to increase the size of your breasts, even though they do increase the levels of oestrogen in the body, there is even less of a chance that creams will work, as they mostly affect the exterior of the body and breasts.
Some reportedly have had success using them, but it would seem to be more a psychological benefit than anything.
Also, beware of people paid to give positive reviews of any products which happens far more frequently than you’d think these days.
So, creams are unlikely to do much and may put you at unnecessary risk.
As we have already discussed and established, the hormones oestrogen and progesterone are the ones responsible in the body for various things related to female health, including the growth of the milk ducts.
While it is true, therefore, that taking hormones to grow your breasts may work, it is worth noting the very real dangers of increasing the levels of oestrogen and progesterone in your body.
When taking hormone replacements there are a lot of side effects you need to be aware of, including:
If you are taking oestrogen and these side effects persist, you should seek out the help of your GP or doctor as soon as possible.
There are also side effects that can occur from taking progesterone, including:
Ultimately, the above risks and side effects from taking the various supplements, hormones, creams and pills are a LOT to put your body through to barely achieve an increase in cup size and aren’t worth it for many women.
To get the best result you are looking for, you may want to go ahead and have surgery.
You may not know that you have many options here too. For example, if you don’t want implants but just want a breast lift, this can be done without inserting implants into your body. Ultimately, you can decide whether implants or a lift is the best option for you with our ultimate guide: breast implants vs breast lift
Cosmetic surgery and breast implants have improved since their inception and are very much the safest and really the only option for those who want a significant increase in breast size, especially if you choose the right clinic, plastic surgeon and implant material.
